Ballinger beats Dogs with big 4th quarter

The Ballinger Bearcats defeated the Brady Bulldogs, 75-44, in a non-district basketball game in Ballinger last Tuesday night. The Dogs’ record drops to 4-3 while the Cats’ winning streak extends to 6-0. Ballinger jumped out to an 18-8 lead after the first quarter and were ahead 34-25 at halftime as the Bulldogs closed the gap by one point. The game remained relatively close through the third period, but Ballinger blew the game open in the fourth quarter, outscoring Brady, 25-7 in that period. Brady coach Shawn Dalbert was unavailable for comment on the game. C.J. Villegas and Hunter Wilkin-son shared the top scoring honors for the Bulldogs with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Other Brady scorers were Cole Whisenhunt 8, Clifton Tally 2, Blake Andrews 2 and Luke Price 9. The Bulldogs had five three-points: Whisenhunt and Price had two and Villegas one.
