Jackie Behrens has authorized the Brady Standard-Herald to announce his intention to seek re-election as the County Commissioner for Precinct 2. Behrens has been honored to serve the McCulloch County Citizens since 1986. He stated, “I have enjoyed serving the citizens of McCulloch County as the Precinct 2 Commissioner, and I have learned to appreciate the challenges that the job presents. I believe that I have made a positive difference in the community because of my willingness to stand up and speak out for every citizen. “I have decided to run for re-election because I believe that my past experience is valuable to the Commissioners Court and I do continue to possess a great desire to serve the county and its citizens to the best of my ability. “I remain dedicated to fighting for the rights of the tax payer, to promoting public relations among all the community leaders, to working with county officials to control the county funds in a wise and prudent manner and to supporting commercial development and enhancing the general business environment within McCulloch County.” Behrens was born and raised in McCulloch County. He married Jeanagayle Deeds in 1963. After living in various communities in Texas and Louisiana, they moved back to Voca in 1976. Jackie and Jeanagayle have two sons, Jean and Jason and a grandson, Gavin Lee.
