Ramona H. Martinez, 94, of Grand Prairie and formerly of Melvin, died Monday, Nov. 26 in Arlington. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 28 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial followed in Southland Memorial Park. Born Dec. 15, 1906 in Rosales Coah, Mexico, she was a longtime resident of Melvin, moving to Grand Prairie in 1992. She was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church in Melvin where she was a member of the Guadalupanas and also attended the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Grand Prairie. Survivors include two sons, Ramero and Jessie Martinez; four daughters, Frances Delos Santos, Alicia Castro, Consuelo Quintero and Ercilia Pina; 28 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Laurencio Martinez. The family requests that memorials be made to the Wellness Center at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
