Mary Louise Ledbetter Ryan, 93, of Brady, died Tuesday, Nov. 20 in San Angelo. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24 at the First Christian Church, Dr. John Stewart, officiating. Burial was in Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home in San Angelo. Born June 8, 1908, on the Ledbetter ranch in Pasche in Concho County, she was the fourth of seven children born to Claude and Texanna Ledbetter. She moved to Brady at an early age where she attended public school. She married naval officer V.L. (Pat) Ryan on June 27, 1936. He died in 1981. Mrs. Ryan was a dedicated homemaker and enjoyed cooking, painting, family gatherings and supporting her sons’ school activities. Survivors include a son, Dr. Vernon Ryan and his wife, Diana, of San Angelo; a sister, Mrs. Maxine Jones; a brother, Rollie White Ledbetter and six grandchildren, Patrick Ryan, Kellie Winger, Michael Ryan, Marcus Ryan, Catherine Borum and Jay West; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her younger son, Claude Ryan.
