The Brady JV girls lost two games last weekend at the Lakeview Tournament. They fell to the Snyder Lady Dogs in the first round, 35-30, in overtime then were tripped up by Sweetwater in the second game, 72-43. “We played hard against Snyder, but the shots wouldn’t fall. Savannah Hernandez hit two free throws with two seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime, tied at 30-all,” coach Chris Weinecke said. “We didn’t shoot well from the field,” the coach said. Brady scorers were Erica Hernandez 13, Chelsey Bandy 6, Savannah Hernandez 3, Kiwanna Holmes 1, Shana Hagemann 4 and Dana Hagemann 3. Against Sweetwater, the Brady girls got into foul trouble while leading 38-36 early in the third quarter. The Lady Mustangs took control after that, outscoring the Lady Dawgs, 28-7 in the fourth period. Dana Hagemann led the scoring for Brady with 14 points. Others scoring were Erica Hernandez 12, Chelsey Bandy 10, Savannah Hernandez 2, Shana Hagemann 3 and Anna Zapata 2. The team is back in action tonight and again Wednesday against San Saba and Sonora, respectively.
