Council to meet during holiday week

Eight ordinances and only two action items await the Brady City Council on Wednesday’s agenda. The regularly scheduled meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21 in Council Chambers. Action items up for approval are a resolution to approve a parks master plan and a resolution electing candidate(s) for a 2002-2003 term for the McCulloch County Appraisal District Board of Directors. Candidates for the new terms are John Evans, Michael Holubec, Wilma Neal, Glenda Ranne, Kirk Roddie and Rodney Young. Ordinances to go before the Council on their third and final readings include: ‘ the ordinance establishing a City of Brady Enterprise Zone; ‘ the ordinance levying taxes for the use and support of the City of Brady for the year 2001; and ‘ the ordinance amending Ordinance No. 631 designating truck routes in the City of Brady. One new ordinance is present on the agenda and includes amending the fiscal year 2001-2002 budget for the City’s pledge in the expansion project for Richards Memorial Library. The city previously agreed to pledge $10,000 toward the library expansion and amending the budget through the approval of all three ordinances will allow for funds to be allocated to the project. Four ordinances will go before the Council for approval on their second readings. They are: ‘ the ordinance to annex all of one acre out of abstract 74, survey 410, J.F. Braun and 36 acres out of abstract 74, survey 410, J.F. Braun; seven acres out of abstract 71, survey 401, J.F. Braun and nine acres of abstract 71, survey 407, J.F. Braun; ‘ the ordinance amending the fiscal year 2001-2002 budget for payment of invoice for consultant Charles Freeman, electrical engineer; ‘ the ordinance amending rates for Richards Park and Brady Lake; and ‘ the ordinance amending Ordinance No. 716 providing for electric transfer fees and establishing an electric line extension fee.
