CTC contest awards new bikes to nine area youth

A contest sponsored by the Central Texas Telephone Cooperative (CTC) netted nine McCulloch youth new sets of wheels, just in time for Christmas. The poster contest was open to 17 schools throughout CTC’s coverage area. Over 230 students entered the competition and of the 15 bicycles awarded, nine were to students in McCulloch County. The contest was for fourth grade students to design posters related to the subject of street safety. With most of the CTC coverage area comprised of rural communities, the theme was chosen to reinforce the safety issues all children should use while cycling both in the city and in rural areas. ‘There were alot of creative posters and the decision was very hard!” said Cindy Hayes, marketing coordinator for CTC. ‘We had several judges work to narrow down the winners and they had a difficult time picking the top winners.’
