Jewel T. Kidd, 83, of Brady, died Friday, Nov. 2 in Brady. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5 at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels, Dr. John Stewart officiating. Burial followed in Rest Haven Cemetery with Ernest Henderson, Jim Ellison, L.D. Henderson, Don Taylor and Greg Brown assisting as pallbearers. Born Sept 27, 1918 in Belton, she was the daughter of Lewis Smythe and Annie (Sexton) Smythe. She married James Ward Paul Jr., on Nov. 27, 1946 in Brady and later married Ralph Kidd on April 13, 1965 in London. She was a loan officer and assistant cashier for Commercial National Bank where she worked for 20 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Brady. Survivors include a niece, Carol Henderson and husband, L.D., of Voca and Mary Ann Marler of Brady. She was preceded in death by her parents; both spouses; a sister; Violet Arledge; and a brother, C.R. Smythe. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society and/or First Christian Church of Brady.
