In what’s quickly becoming a tradition at Brady High School, a Veterans’ Day program honoring all McCulloch County Veterans will be held in the BHS auditorium on Friday, Nov. 9. The ceremony will begin with a registration and a reception with food and refreshments in the high school library from 9-10 a.m. followed by the program which is scheduled from 10:15-11:35 a.m. in the auditorium. McCulloch County veterans are encouraged to register early through Brady High School, VFW, the American Legion, Rotary Club or Lions Club. Forms will be available through all of these organizations. “This will help us anticipate and prepare some of the awards earlier than the morning of the event,” said BHS teacher and event coordinator Chuck Bailey. “May we gain a fuller appreciation for Thomas Jefferson’s observation that ‘The Price of Freedom is Eternal Vigilance.'” The ceremony is being conducted in memory of those past and present whose military service has kept the nation safe and strong, and whose sacrifices have helped preserve the freedoms all Americans enjoy today.
