Adult Literacy Council to honor students

The McCulloch County Adult Literacy Council will host its annual achievement program for students and tutors on Thursday, Nov. 1 beginning at 5 p.m. at the McCulloch County Helping Hands Community Center. The purpose of the event is to recognize students and their families for their accomplishments in reading, learning to speak English or studying to acquire their U.S. citizenship. Refreshments will be served and door prizes will be given away. Anyone interested in becoming involved in Adult Literacy, either in teaching, learning how to read and/or advancing in reading skills or learning to speak English or anyone in need of assistance in studying for their U.S. citizenship can contact the Helping Hands Center at 597-3794.
