The Brady Lions Club’s monthly business meeting last Thursday included the induction of two new Lions. Mr. & Mrs. Bobby (Bob & Bobbie) Williams became the latest to roar. Their memberships were sponsored by local Lions Lynn and Delma Colville. The Williams moved here from Midland about a year ago. Welcome, Lions Bob and Bobbie! Lion Rick Melcer brought Buster Williams (no relation to Lions Bob & Bobbie) as his guest and prospective member. Buster and his dad Gene own Williams Conservation Contracting in Brady. This coming weekend the local club will be hosting the Lions District 2-A1 Fall Cabinet Meeting. There will be a golf tournament for local and visiting Lions on Friday, a supper Friday evening, and meetings and lunch on Saturday. All of the events, except the golf game, will be held at the local VFW home. Thanks to the Burton Kyle McCord Post 3234 for making their home available to groups such as ours. The next big project for the Brady Lions Club will be a dinner theater on Saturday, Nov. 10. The Community Children’s Theater group will perform ‘Roomers,’ and a prime rib meal will be served. (It’s OK. Brady Lions are just serving, not actually cooking!) Tickets for the event are $15 each, and are available from local Lions with the performance taking place in the Brady Middle School Cafetorium. You are welcome to purchase individual tickets or reserve a whole table. The club’s chairman for this project is Lion Mike Barbour, and the performers’ director is LaGrace DeFiore. Plans have begun for this coming spring’s Lions Honor Banquet. All high school students in McCulloch County who meet the academic requirements are eligible to be recognized. For a list of requirements, consult you school’s counselor or principal. Chairman for this 42nd annual banquet is Lion 3rd Vice President Steve DeFiore.
