The Farm Service Agency (FSA) is seeking candidates for the locally led County Committee election to he held this fall. FSA Committee Election for Local Administrative Area (LAA #1) will be on Dec. 3. The county FSA committee is responsible for the overall direction and operations of the county FSA office and the administration of the various federal farm programs at the county level. Nomination petitions are being accepted for candidates to be placed on the County Committee Election The ballot is for Local Administrative Area (LAA) #1. This area is the southwest side of the county including Melvin, Calf Creek, Nine Communities from south of the Brady Mountain to Brady and south of Brady along U.S. Hwy 87 to Camp San Saba. Deadline date to submit nomination petitions to the McCulloch County FSA Office is Oct. 29. To be considered eligible to be a candidate for county committee the nominee must reside in the county and in the community in which the election is being held. The nominee should be actively involved in operating or owning a farm or ranch in the LAA #1.
