Ex Bulldog starting center for Wildcats

Brady high school graduate Blake Lewis, son of Johnny and Jill Lewis, will be hitting the gridiron field in San Angelo this weekend as the starting center for the Abilene Christian University Wildcats. At 6-4, 280, he was a starter for the Wildcats last season at tackle. He was moved from tight end to outside linebacker after his redshirt season in 1999 and he now starts full time at center. As a senior at Brady, he helped lead the Bulldog team to a 9-2 record. He was named team MVP, all-district and honorable mention all-state. Uncles Marion and Royce Lewis played basketball and football, respectively, at Abilene Christian, while his father, Johnny, played basketball at Lubbock Christian. Brother, Ryan, played baseball at ACU. As number 69 on the Wildcat roster, Blake will play in front of many hometown guests Saturday when they take on the ASU Rams at 6 p.m. Saturday in San Angelo.
