Depression seminar offered free of charge

On Sunday, Oct. 14, at 2 p.m. First Methodist Church in Brownwood will host a seminar on “How to Cope with Depression.” The seminar is given by the Depression Challenge Team of the Central Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church. Rev. Tony Campbell, United Methodist minister and Jane Avila, child specialist, will lead the seminar. The Depression Challenge Team program is educational and supportive as depression affects everyone involved. This seminar will help people understand the painful condition and assist them in getting to the help they need. The focus is to assist in bringing issues about depression and other related conditions out of the closet while bringing hope and help to many who are in need. Care givers will be provided with information as to how they can support their family members. The seminar is free and open to anyone who has an interest in this timely concern.
