Freshmen Dogs scalp Indians, 20-8

A balanced game full of a variety of both passing and running plays helped the Bulldog Freshmen send the Comanches running, 20-8. The Freshmen Dogs started out the game with a drive that was capped on a 15-yard run by Cooper Bagheri. The PAT failed and Brady held on to a 6-0 lead for the remainder of the first stanza. The Brady offense kicked into gear in the second quarter and put two touchdowns on the board. The first score was Bagheri on a seven-yard run followed by a two-point conversion pass from quarterback Paden Behrens to Gilbert Rodriguez. Behrens then hooked up with Channing Booker for a 40-yard pass to put the Dogs up 20-0 at the half. “Offensively, Jacob Bierman had an outstanding game at guard,” said coach Bill Brown. “Running backs John Vara and Bagheri also had outstanding games running and blocking. Overall, we had a good effort and used a mixture of running and passing to get the win.” The third quarter went by with neither team able to score before Comanche tacked on a 25-yard touchdown pass late in the fourth to save the shutout.
