Lohn varsity Eagles suffered the first loss of the season Friday night as Sidney squeaked by, 37-32. A tooth-and-nail battle to the fourth quarter, the Eagles trailed Sidney at the end of the first half, 19-16. A last minute rally in the fourth quarter to overcome the deficit came too late for the Eagles. In the first quarter, Lohn jumped out in the lead, 8-6. The first TD came on a 60-yard kick-off return by Matt Orosco. The PAT by Riley McFarland was good for two points. Sidney brought in the next two TDs and for the first time this year the Eagles trailed their opponent. The second Lohn TD came in the second quarter when Bill Fore blocked a punt and managed to bring the ball into the end zone. The PAT by McFarland was good for another two points. After letting Sidney slip two consecutive TDs by, the Eagles managed to get on the board twice in the fourth quarter with the first TD hailing from a 15-yard run by Garrett Bloomer and the second from a three-yard pass from McFarland to Richard Bivens. The PATs by McFarland were each successful for two points in the fourth quarter. The Eagles will host Novice this week for their homecoming game with kick-off scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
