Preparations for the annual Brady High School Homecoming week activities have begun and will officially kick off Monday when Ol’ Houn’ Dawgs Booster Club members decorate the town. The booster club will meet at the high school parking lot at 5:30 p.m. where they will join with several BHS clubs in hanging ribbons and decorating the town in traditional school colors. Tuesday will feature the Ol’ Houn’ Dawgs tailgate party and hamburger cookout followed by the lighting of the bonfire. These activities will be held in the vacant lot adjacent to Brady Middle School on the Menard highway. Serving will begin at 6 p.m. and the meal will include hamburger, chips and a drink at a cost of $2 for students and $4 for adults. The varsity football team will arrive around 6:45 p.m. via special transportation. The bonfire will be lit at dusk followed by a spirit rally. Any businesses or area residents who have donations for the bonfire may call the high school at 597-2491 and leave a message for senior class president Johnny Menefield or for Dave Edmiston. A reception honoring the homecoming court will be held at the BHS library on Friday from 9-11 a.m. and the public is invited to attend. BHS class decorated cars entered in the spirit contest will be judged prior to the pep rally and the winner will be announced during the homecoming pep rally that will be held in Bulldog Stadium beginning at 12:15 p.m.
