The McCulloch County Cub Scout Pack 424 will host a Cub Scout rally Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. in the Brady Elementary School cafeteria. All boys in grades 1-5 are invited to attend to learn and sign up in one of the nation’s oldest orgainzed clubs. In an attempt to boost membership in McCulloch County and the Concho Valley, the Concho Valley Scout Council will invest $94.08 in every registered youth in 2001. “We predict that for every 100 boys who join a Scout troop, 12 will have their first contact with a church, five will earn their religious emblem, one will enter the clergy, 18 will develop hobbies that will last through their adult life, eight will enter a career theat was learned through the merit badge system, one will use his Boy Scout skills to save a life, one will use his Boy Scout skills to save his own life, 17 will become Scouting volunteers and two will become Eagle Scouts,” said Irene Hernandez. “The local Scout Council needs the support of this community to continue serving our youth with a high quality program designed for young men.” For more information, contact Ms. Hernandez at 597-1439 or Jason Henry at 800-321-7107.
