Rochelle’s Junior High footballers whipped their Veribest opponents last Thursday, 47-6. The young Hornets tallied 19 points in the first quarter and added 14 more in the second to lead at halftime, 33-6. Rochelle added another 14 in the third to end the game. Bo Stuart began the scoring for the Hornets with a 10-yard TD run, and Gage Rose got the second on an 11-yard run. Stuart added the PAT on a run. A sixth grader, Bryan Allgood, got the third first period six pointer on a five-yard run. Stuart got another score in the second on a 15-yard scamper. Rex Stidham ran the extra point. After a 50-yard Veribest run for the young Falcons’ only touchdown, Allgood scored again from four yards out then ran for the extra point. In the third period Gage Rose ran 55 yards and Clayton Williams ran the extra point. QB James Baker ended the game with a 30-yard pass to Wayne Flint. Stuart ran the extra point.
