Young crop of cheerleaders return home with trophies

The cheerleading squad from Brady Middle School attended Southwest Texas State University’s UCA cheerleading camp July 30-Aug. 2 in San Marcos. “The girls worked hard and did an excellent job all week,” said cheerleading sponsor Mickey Holloway. The squad received superior ratings on the first night in both “Sideline Evaluation” and “Home Pom Evaluation.” The squad received an excellent rating in “X-treme Routine” on the second night of cheerleading camp; a superior rating on the third night for “Cheer Evaluation” and on the final day of camp they received superior ratings in both “Cheer Evaluation” and “X-treme Routine” and “Overall Weekly Evaluations.” They earned a second place trophy in the camp championship cheer division and a trophy for “Most Improved Squad.” Amanda Vandine was named to the “All Star Cheerleading Squad.” “We had very little time for practice, but overall they did exceptionally well,” said Holloway. “I am excited about the upcoming year and look forward to working with this great group of girls.”
