Dorothy Marie Ake Ellison, 75 of Abilene and formerly of Brady, died Sunday, Sept. 2 at a nursing home in Abilene. Services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5 at Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope, 3349 North 12th Street. Private graveside service will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in Lohn under the direction of Abilene Funeral Home. Born in Bryan on Nov. 12, 1925, she was the daughter of William H. and Lillie Mae Franklin. She was a resident of Abilene since 1956 having moved from Brady. She married George B. Ake on Sept. 2, 1943 in Bryan. He preceded her in death in 1959. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include six sons, Bob Ake of Abilene, Harold Ake of Garland, Dennis Ake of Venus, Ronnie Ake of Abilene, Mickey Ellison of Abilene and Tim Ellison of Abilene; three brothers, James Franklin of Bryan, Ivan Franklin of Abilene and Morris Franklin of Abilene; a sister, Ruby Lee of Houston; 19 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mable Ake, and a brother, James L. Franklin.
