Missouri native to minister Cowboy Church at Cook-Off

Cowboy Church will be held once again at the World Championship Barbeque Goat Cook-Off in Brady, Sunday, Sept. 2 at 10 a.m. at Richards Park at the show barn. Crystal Lyons will be ministering. Crystal was raised with a zeal and a love for God in the Ozark Mountains of Southern Missouri. Although saved at the age of eight, it wasn’t until adulthood that she realized the awesome and unorthodox call He had placed on her life. Crystal began riding bulls and bareback horses in 1986 for the Professional Women’s Rodeo Association. That year she was not only the Rookie of the Year, but she was also invited to the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, Nev., to ride a bull during the crowning of Miss Rodeo America. During this time God opened up a whole new area of ministry to her. She knew then beyond a shadow of a doubt that God had called her to rodeo ministry. Together with her husband, Ray, a former PRCA bullrider himself, and their two boys, Tyger Tuff and Colt Wrangler, they travel full-time ministering where God leads them. Not only do they hold Cowboy Church Services and Cowboy Camp Meetings, she also hold concerts on horseback at rodeos as well as city-wide outreaches. Crystal has been blessed with an anointing to write powerful songs and preach the uncompromising word of God. She is a powerful teacher of the word of God and also brings a humbleness to her programs by being able to relate to folks on a one-on-one basis. Together with her “down-home country style” and her love for God, she has a uniqueness that God has instilled in Crystal alone.
