Edwin (Slick) Schooley, 89 of Brady, passed away Sunday, Aug. 26 in Brady. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 28 (today) at 10 a.m. at Sunset Ridge Church of Christ under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home, George Gourley and Rusty Kwast officiating. Burial followed in Wagram Cemetery near Fredonia. Born Aug. 24, 1912 in Brady, he was the son of James Edward Schooley and Martha Elizabeth Selman. He married Clariece Romel Baxter on May 2, 1935 in Brady. He was a stock farmer and a member of the Sunset Ridge Church of Christ in Brady. Survivors include his wife, Romel of Brady; a son, Jimmy Schooley and wife, Loma of Fredonia; a daughter, Dodie Williams and husband, Charles of Buchanan Dam; a sister, Marie Crane of Victoria; five grandchildren, Laurie Woerner and husband, Gregg of Brady, Steve Schooley of Fredonia, Pattie Allen and husband, Joel of Mason, Mitzi Williams of Jacksboro, Marsha Hammond and husband, Scott of Copperas Cove; two great-grandchildren, Hawkins and Shelby Allen of Mason; several nieces and nephews and special caregivers, Faye, Lupe, Candie, George and Marie Gourley and Dr. Lonnie Vickers. Pallbearers were C.W. Capps, Don Baxter, Steve Schooley, Gregg Woerner, Scott Hammond, Gabriel Tovar, Burl Schooley and Joel Allen.
