With only two ordinances and five action items on the upcoming meeting agenda, the Brady City Council could possibly expect another brief session on Wednesday, Aug. 15. First on the agenda, the City Council will consider approving the second reading of an ordinance adopting rules of the City of Brady for on-site sewage facilities and the third reading of an ordinance rezoning Block 6, Spiller Addition, also known as 106 East 16th Street from Type A’residential to Type D’commercial district for the purpose of a beauty salon. Action items to be discussed are: ‘Consider and act on a proposal submitted by HVJ Associates, Inc. for professional street engineering services; ‘Consider and act on rescinding Resolution No. 2000-009 which provides for volunteer inspector; ‘Consider and act on authorizing Pete McKinney and Brad Childs to complete electrical inspections; ‘Consider and act on appointing Pete McKinney (as per job description) to the Planning and Zoning Commission and Board of Adjustment and Appeals to replace Jesse McAnally; and ‘Consider and act on authorizing Heart of Texas Golf Association to enter into grant applications for expansion of municipal golf course. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. in Council Chambers and will adjourn following reports from the city manager and finance officer.
