Soap scrimmage Saturday to help Bulldogs start ‘clean’ season

A well-known tradition celebrated annually at Brady High School will have fellow Bulldog teammates battling it out against each other on the football field in what’s commonly known as the ‘soap scrimmage.’ The game will kick off on Saturday, Aug. 11 at 9 a.m. The event is held each year and fans who hope to get an early glimpse at the upcoming breed of Brady Bulldogs are asked to donate a bar of soap as their entry fee. The soap will help offset costs associated with keeping the players clean and fresh following practices and games. The Ol’ Houn Dawgs Booster Club encourages the public to attend the scrimmage to watch their hometown team and to meet the new coaches and visit with the others. Watermelon will be served after the last team leaves the field. Also, the Booster Club will be signing up members for the 2001-2002 year. Family memberships are $10 and individual memberships are $7.
