Rotary Spokes

The Brady Rotary Club met Tuesday, Aug. 7 at the Caf’ at the Depot. Bill Spiller, local banker, was the guest of Dayton Boren. Rotarian Mike Seidenberger informed the members of his meeting in St. Louis with other Rotarians. President DeFiore asked for volunteers to help take tickets at the upcoming rodeo scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 25. Program chairman Mac McWill-iams gave a talk on the history of the Brady Rotary and how it has progressed through the past 75 years. He told of the combined meeting of Brady, Menard and San Saba that encompassed 170 years. He also told about the building of the food trailer in 1985 and who did what and who donated what. The final information was about the Rotary Foundation and how we are helping people world wide. He urged members to become Paul Harris Fellows when they give $1,000 to the Rotary Foundation. The $2 bill was awarded to Bill Spiller for being the lucky handshaker (number seven). Program chairman for the Aug. 14 meeting is Lynn Munden. Caroline Parks will be the program chairman for the Aug. 21 meeting.
