After several years away, Bill Spiller has returned to Brady’the town in which he was born and the community he’s always referred to as home. Given the opportunity to head up the bank in Brady, Spiller is now the acting branch manager and vice president of First American Bank in Brady. ‘It sure is good to come back home,’ said Spiller. ‘It just seems that when you live off someplace else, everything interesting seems to happen in Brady.’ Spiller is a 1977 graduate of Brady High School as well as a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin. His first employment in the banking industry was with Mercantile National Bank in Las Angeles, Calif. Through 22 successful years in the business, Spiller has made a name for himself in the banking industry. He was the manager of Bank of America in Brady for five years before taking a position with First American Bank where he’s been employed for the past five-and-one-half years. He most recently held the position of area manager over banks in Eastland, Ranger and Cisco. Now finally home to stay, Spiller prides himself on being able to offer Brady and area residents alternative banking. ‘I just want to give the people of Brady a banking choice,’ he explained.
