Dana Lee to headline ‘End of Summer’ dance

Dana Lee and the Ranger Band from San Antonio will headline the annual “End of Summer” dance at the Heart of Texas Civic Center on Saturday, Aug. 11. The dance, sponsored by the Heart of Texas Country Music Association, will be held from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. and is BYOB. Table reservations can be made by calling KNEL at (915) 597-2119. Admission is $7 per person. Dana Lee was raised in Bulverde and grew up with the sights and sounds of country music in South Texas. He grew interested in country music through his father who played the fiddle. Dana then formed his band and began playing music professionally throughout Texas. Lee’s band, the Ranger Band is full of great musicians who have worked with Gary Stewart, Mark Chestnut, Johnny Bush, Darrell McCall, Tracy Lawrence and Faron Young. “I am excited to be bringing my band to Brady,” Lee said. “I have been to Brady on several occasions, but this is the first time that the Ranger Band and I have have been able to play for a dance at the Heart of Texas Civic Center. We are really looking forward to being in the Heart of Texas.” Dana Lee and the Ranger Band feature both Top 40 and Classic Country with a touch of rock and roll. Lee is also working on a new album project soon to be released. “We are having our ‘End of Summer’ dance a little early this year,” KNEL disc jockey Tracy Pitcox said. “This will be our last Brady dance until October, so we hope everyone will come out and have a great time.”
