Things are really gearing up to be a busy month out here at the course. Wednesday, Aug. 1 was the regular Ladies Evening of Golf and there were 12 ladies out to play golf and this made three teams of four. All three teams scored a 34 but the score card play off gave the 1st place to Gloria Slone, Bobbie Williams, Jamye Graves and Kathy Powell. Second place went to Denise Nichols, Tiffany Nichols, Terri Virdell and Mae Journeay. Third place went to Charla Carrithers, Marilyn Carrithers, Joy Millsap and Rita McMillan. Congratulations to each of you for playing such a close match. The regular Thursday Hully Gully brought out 40 players and the board members present decided to play the back nine. This didn’t hamper spirits any at all as scores were all once again very close ranging from 27 to 30. There were eight 5-person teams all vying for the win. But the first place team was the Raymond Rubio team with a score of 27 and a score card play off as there was three 27 scores posted. The 1st place team consisted of Raymond, Benton Franklin, Terry Virdell, Denise Nichols and Bobbie Williams. Second place with a 27 went to JT Epley, Richard Journeay, Clay Jones, Johnny Jones and Liz Rudder. Third place went to James Torres, Gray Carrithers, Johnny Poe, Herbert Huffman and Marilyn Carrithers also with a 27. Congratulations to each of you for wins. The Championship Tournament of the West Texas Junior Champions Tour was held July 31 and August 1st in Llano, on Llano County Club Golf Course. From all accounts given it was a great course and our young people represented Brady in a superb way. So, if you see any of these young people give them a pat on the back and tell them you are proud of them. Amy Pearson won 1st place with a two day total of 151 in the 16 to 18-year-old division; Michael Guiterrez won first place with a two day total of 162 in the 16 to 18-year-old boys division; Casey Long won 2nd with a two day total of 150 in the 14 to 15-year-old boys division; Jim Bob Shelby won 3rd with a two day total of 162 in the 14 to 15-year-old division; Jake Long got 6th place in the 8 to 9-year-old boys division.
