Brady High School senior kicker Jody Jones has been working throughout the summer preparing for the upcoming football season. Over the summer, Jones participated in the R.C. Slocum football camp and also the Randy Rogers Lone Star Kicking Challenge. The Kicking Challenge is an invitation-only camp held in College Station comprised of 60 athletes from all schools across the state. The camp is designed to give kickers an opportunity to compete against others as over 50 college recruiters from across the nation look on. In the camp, kickers challenge each other in a variety of scenarios including field goals and kickoffs each with different situations that increase the level of difficulty. In this competition, Jones made it to the top four. “One of the toughest kicks I made was a field goal from where the goal line and side line meet,” said Jones. Jones and one other kicker from Ingram-Tom Moore were the only individuals invited to the challenge from the district.
