Billy Dan Carson, MD, recently completed his internship and residency in family practice at the University of Texas Health Center in Tyler and is now employed at Trinity Mother Frances Health System in Jacksonville as a family practitioner. Dr. Carson is the son of Ruth Carson of Brady and the late James Dale Carson. He was a 1984 graduate of Brady High School and a 1988 graduate of Abilene Christian University. He went on to receive his master’s degree from Texas A&M University and his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. Dr. Carson is certified in basic life support, advanced cardiac life support and pediatric advanced life support. He is a member of the American Association of Family Practitioners, Texas Association of Family Practitioners and the American Medical Association. At the residency graduation ceremony, he was honored with the Resident of the Year award by the UT staff and his classmates. Attending the ceremony were his mother, Ruth Carson of Brady; his wife, Jennifer Carson; his sister, Judy Carson Lewis; his brother, David Carson; and his mother- and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Wright, and his brother-in-law, Paul Wright. Dr. Carson and his wife, Jennifer, have three children, Ancel, Hope and the late Braden Carson. The family resides in Tyler.
