Baker represents Rochelle in Texas All-Star Week

Completing her final step of a very successful high school basketball career, Gina Baker recently represented Rochelle High School by participating in the Texas Six-Man Coaches Association All-Star Week. The Six-Man Coaches Association treated four girls’ and four boys’ all-star basketball teams and two all-star football teams made up of senior athletes from six-man schools all across the state to an activity-filled week in Lubbock. Gina spent July 17-20 in Lubbock practicing basketball and having fun with members of the Girls South Basketball team where she joined forces with all-star players from Brookesmith, Jonesboro, Cherokee, Priddy and Walnut Springs. These girls were coached by Tri Danley of Brookesmith and were victorious over the North All-Star team made up of players from Follett, Silverton, Jayton, Fort Elliot, Vally, Guthrie, Wilson, Higgins and Lazbuddie. The final score of the game was 70-66. Gina contributed 18 points, including some crucial free throws in the final seconds of the game, five assists, eight rebounds and one steal to the team’s winning efforts. She was a 2001 graduate of Rochelle High School and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Baker of Rochelle.
