Ellison David LeBleu, 91, of Brownwood, formerly of Rising Star, died Friday, July 13 in the Brown-wood Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held Sunday, July 15 at 3 p.m. in the Rising Star Church of Christ with Lee Roy Sedgewick and Richard Massey officiating. Burial followed in the Eastlawn Cemtery in Early under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Home. Born Sept. 10, 1909, in Brady to Clyde and Pearl (Roper) LeBleu, he married Velma Beatrice Lewis on June 6, 1936, also in Brady. He worked as an auto mechanic for many yearss at car dealerships in San Angelo. He was a member of the Church of Christ and served as an elder in the congregation at San Angelo, Ozona and Rising Star. They moved to Rising Star in the early 1970s. Velma passed away in 1988. He married Lorena Lohman Hammack on Sept. 30, 1989, at Lake Travis. Survivors include his wife, Lorena, of Brownwood; two daughters, Janice Ross and her husband, Pete, of Brownwood, and Joan LeBleu of Brecken-ridge; two step-daughters, Dorothy Peterson of Marble Falls and Melba Wages of Eagle’s Nest, N. Mex.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Judith Ann LeBleu; two brothers, Rex and Raymond LeBleu; a sister, Lorena Lewis; a grandson, Craig Kessinger; and a great-grandson, Stephon Kessinger.
