Arts, crafts festival set this weekend in San Angelo

The 8th annual All American Summer Arts and Crafts Festival will be held July 21 and 22 in the Main Exhibits Building at the San Angelo Coliseum Complex. Exhibitors from throughout the Southwest will be on hand with original art, limited edition prints and handcrafted items. Hours for the festival are Saturday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. There is no admission charge. Mel Prather, organizer for the two-day event, said the upcoming festival would feature a number of new exhibitors and expanded categories. “First time participants will offer items such as tole painting, wood crafts, outdoor art, ceramics, jewelry, clothing and wall hangings,” Prather said. Also new are those with country furniture, quilts, dolls, crocheted items, clocks, candles, spun glass, porcelain figurines, birdhouses, night lights, crystal potpourri, horse shoe art, southwest ceramics, wind chimes, jewelry boxes and floral art. Rounding out the list will be those with items such as painted wood, wood wreaths, personalized tee shirts, Southwest jewelry, coasters, quilts, bird feeders and ladies’ clothing.
