Catalina Villegas, 88, of Fort Worth and formerly of Brady, died Monday, July 9 in Fort Worth. Rosary was read at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 11 at Heritage Funeral Home in Brady. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 12 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Father Colm Mulligan, conducting. Burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery. Born April 30, 1913, in Brady to Jose and Maria Gloria Flores, she married Rito Villegas on Nov. 4, 1931, in Brady. He died in 1990. She was a Catholic, a housewife and a member of the Guadalupa’a Society. Survivors include 13 children, Ninfa Tannen of Albuquerque, N. Mex., Hermelinda Espino of Fort Worth, Adelfa Muniz of Brady, Rosario Barrera of Brownwood, Domingo Villegas of Fort Worth, Helen Ruiz of Arlington, Martha Villegas of Fort Worth, Rachel Henshaw of Roanoke, Ruben Villegas of Arlington, Mary Villegas of Austin, Mary Ann Mendez of Brady, Joe Villegas of Fresno, Calif. and Arthur Villegas of Fort Worth; two brothers, Jesse Flores of Lubbock and Phillip Flores of Slaton; four sisters, Christina Arregien of Baytown, Licha Cantu of Lubbock, Ino Gonzales of Lubbock and Eloisa Lafuente of Plainview; 26 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. One brother, Manuel Flores, preceded her in death.
