Summertime’a time for vacations, swimming and of course, baseball. This past weekend five of the six teams in the West Texas Junior League traveled to the Brady High School baseball field to compete in the final tournament of the season. The league is made up of 13 and 14-year-olds from Brady, Junction, Eldorado, Mason, Sonora, and Reagan County, who was absent from the tournament. The Tournament began Thursday and lasted until Saturday. Junction won the tournament, Mason got second, and the Brady team, sponsored by Brady Butane, got third. A mid-season tournament was held earlier in the year where Brady placed second. The Brady team coached by David Land and Tobin Rainey, finished the season in first place with an overall record of 14 wins and 3 losses. The season began on the first Saturday in May with doubleheaders on Saturdays and singles on Tuesdays. They ended their season with this weekend’s tournament.
