Ford, Halbert exchange vows at Trinity University

Nancy Elizabeth Ford and Matthew Clarke Halbert exchanged marriage vows June 16 in a noon ceremony at Margarite B. Parker Chapel, Trinity University. The Reverend Doug Earle and The Reverend Mary Earle officiated at the traditional Episcopal service. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jon Grant Ford of San Antonio, and the granddaughter of Mrs. Norman Dayton Archer of San Antonio, formerly of Brady and the late Mr. Archer. Paternal grandparents of the bride are Mr. John Glenwood Ford of San Antonio, and the late Mrs. Ford. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Holloway Halbert of San Antonio and the grandson of Mr. Almon James Coen, and the late Mrs. Coen of Prairie Village, Kan. The late Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Paige Halbert of Prairie Village, Kan. are paternal grandparents of the groom. The bride is a graduate of Trinity University where she received a bachelor of arts degree in religion and a master of science degree in health care administration. The groom is a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio where he received a bachelor of science degree in architecture. The bride’s formal gown of candlelight ivory Italian satin featured a Venetian lace bodice. A family heirloom veil of Brussels lace was worn by the bride. The bridal bouquet included gardenias, ivory roses and lily of the valley. Alice Louise Nagy was maid of honor. Mary Martha Meek and Kyle Christen Standefer, cousin of the bride, were bridesmaids. Junior bridesmaid was Ainsley Thames Treptow, daughter of the bride’s godparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Richard Treptow of Middleburg, Va. David James Halbert, brother of the groom, was best man. The bride’s brothers, Jon Thomas Ford and Christopher Bradley Ford were groomsmen, along with Michael Timothy Woods. Ushers included Lawrence Bradley Hancock, David Joseph Harris, Stephen Frederick Harris and Roy Coleman Schweers. The house party included Gretchen Johanson Bradbury, Caroline Webster Cain, Kathleen and Mary Lee Hackedorn, cousins of the bride, Barclay Livingston Hammond, Dorothea Priscilla Hancock, India Chumney Hancock, Bonnie Mixon McCrickard, Amy McGaughy Moehnke, Kathleen DeWees Naumann, Kelley Anne O’Bryan and Catherine Anne Schweers. Scriptures were read by Jeffrey Benjamin Hammond and Katherine Elise Ortiz. Music was provided by Dr. David Heller, organist, and The Children’s Chorus of San Antonio, directed by Marguerite McCormick. After a luncheon reception at Club Giraud, the couple left for a wedding trip to the coast of Maine. They will reside in San Antonio where the bride is employed by the Witte Museum. The groom is an associate with Braswell Architecture Inc. Former Brady residents attending the wedding ceremony were Mrs. Norman Dayton Archer, the bride’s grandmother, Thomas Dayton Archer, the bride’s uncle, William Thomas Archer, cousin of the bride, Evelynn Bradley Hackedorn and Glenna Bradley Bratton, maternal great-aunts of the bride, along with Elene Corder Ondo, Anita Jordan Taylor and Suzanne Carrithers James
