The 37th Annual Mason Jaycee Roundup weekend will be held in Mason on Friday and Saturday, July 13-14. Produced by Lester Meier Rodeo Productions of Fredericksburg, the rodeo will be held both evenings at Fort Mason Park Rodeo Arena. Books will be open on Monday, July 9 with rough stock entries being taken from 12 noon to 8 p.m. Events include bareback riding, tie down calf roping, bull riding, team roping, Mason County team roping, girls barrel racing jackpotted each night, girls breakaway roping, muttin’ bustin’ (under 60 pounds) and calf scramble for ages eight and under and ages eight to 12. Rodeo time will be 8 p.m. each evening. A dance will be held each evening to begin after the rodeo at the Fort Mason Park dance pavilion. Music will be provided by Cody Widner and Sumthin Country. The new Mason County Roundup Queen and Duchesses will be presented both evenings and will be crowned on Saturday evening during the rodeo. Presentation and interviews of the queen and duchesses will take place on the courthouse lawn on Saturday at 3 p.m. on the north side of the courthouse. The parade will be held on Saturday, July 14 at 10 a.m. Lineup will begin at 8 a.m. by the M Beven Eckert Memorial Library. Judging will begin at 9 a.m. Parade participants will receive their lineup information at that time.
