Water gardens program presented to Melvin TEEAC

The Melvin Chapter of the TEEAC held its’ monthly meeting on June 18th at the Melvin Community Center.’ There were 8 members and 2 guests in attendance. The evening’s program was presented by Glenda Thompson, who gave a fascinating presentation on creating your own water garden.’ Glenda and her husband had an impressive slide show as part of the presentation which the members enjoyed very much. After the presentation, the members enjoyed the mexican salad and apricot cobbler prepared by Dora Flores and Jane Holubec, which was followed by the meeting being called to order. President JoAnn Whitworth did the call to order after which the devotion was read.’ It quoted Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., “To ignore evil is to become an accomplice to it.” Roll was called by secretary Billie Toy Donohoe, which members responded to with “something I have always wanted”.’ Meeting minutes from the last meeting were read and approved.’ Discussions included a donation to Jack Weaver for his fundraiser, as well as the upcoming EE Council and the District EE Camp in College Station in August.’ After turning in our Nickels for Leadership, the meeting was adjourned by Jo Ann Whitworth. Anyone interested in becoming a member of the TEEAC in Melvin, please contact JoAnn Whitworth.’ The next meeting is scheduled for July 9th at 7:30pm in the Melvin Community Center, and guests are always welcome.
