Santa Anna to host 35th annual Cowboy Camp

The 35th annual Little George Havens’ Cowboy Camp Meeting will take place Friday, June 15 through Sunday, June 24 in Santa Anna (Hwy 84, approximately four miles south of Coleman and four miles north of Santa Anna). On Saturday, June 23, the Christian Motorcyclists Association will join the Cowboy Camp for a ministry session. A barbecue dinner will be served on Saturday at 6 p.m. for all who attend. The evening worship service will follow at 7:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to stay for as many days as possible and camp sites and showers are available at no cost. It was in 1966 that the first camp meeting was held at Flying H Acres on Highway 84 between Coleman and Santa Anna. This year the camp will celebrate with great gospel messages and soul-stirring songs once again. Top evangelists preaching and singing under the big tent at 8 p.m. each evening and 10 a.m. each morning (except Saturdays) are planned throughout the event. There are also tentative plans for a new outreach that may include a rodeo play day at the Santa Anna rodeo grounds that would be held after the camp meeting. A wagon full of fun things will be offered for children this year in the “Kid’s Korral.” A fishing festival, movies, mystery games and other hair-raising and side splitting activities are planned to entertain children throughout the week.
