Karen Camille Jones and Gregory Paul Pinkstaff were united in holy matrimony May 26 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Odessa with the bride’s brother, Cory Jones, and Father Mark Woodruff officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mike and Barbi Jones of Brady. The groom is the son of Tim and Marty Pinkstaff of Odessa. Wearing a Mori Lee sleeveless gown with a high scalloped neck line, beaded empire waist with matching beadwork on a cathedral length train, the bride was escorted to the altar by her father. As a special remembrance, the bride wore the wedding band of her great-grandmother. Her bouquet was a beautiful array of nosegay light pink roses wrapped in pearls. She was assisted by Robin Seglem, a childhood friend, as matron of honor. Bridesmaids for the occasion were Lennie Pinkstaff, groom’s sister; Christina McCarty, future sister-in-law; Liz Taraba, college friend; Kelli Towns, college friend; and Dawn Mays, college friend. The bridesmaids carried bouquets of nosegays of variegated pink roses. The groom’s goddaughter, Karris Carpenter, served as the flowergirl. Jarred Davis, groom’s cousin, served as best man while John Pinkstaff, groom’s brother; Steven Pinkstaff, groom’s brother; Carrick Carpenter, childhood friend; Trent Watkins, childhood friend; Eddie Chance, childhood friend; and Scott Polak, college friend, all served as groomsmen. They wore black tuxedos with silver vests. Ushers for the occasion were Ben George, childhood friend; Jay George, childhood friend; Justin Huling, college friend; and Alan Stephen, bride’s childhood friend. The reception had a Caribbean theme with a large sailboat ice sculpture surrounded by boiled shrimp as the focal point. Coconut shrimp, jerk chicken, pork loin and various fruits and cheeses were also served. A dance which began with traditional first dances followed the wedding ceremony. The bride and groom danced to “At Last” and the bride and her father shared a dance to “You’ve Got a Friend” and the groom and his mother danced to “I Believe.” The couple honeymooned for eight days and seven nights in St. Martin (French West Indies in the Caribbean) at Le Meridian Hotel. The bride graduated from Texas A&M University in 2001 with a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting and a master of science degree in finance. She is employed by Arthur Anderson as a consultant in assurance and business advisory services. The groom is a 1999 graduate of Texas A&M University. He received a bachelor of science degree in construction science and is currently employed by Austin Commercial as an office engineer. The couple will reside in Austin.
