The 4-H Rifle Club participated in the Texas Muzzle Loaders State Championship at the Brady Lake Range last weekend. The results are: Nolan Landes first place in the 25-yard junior event, and Bodie Landers, second place in the 25-yard junior event. The club would like to relay to the Texas muzzle loaders how much they appreciated their help in all events. The club has been notified that it has been approved for a Friends of the National Rifle Association grant in the amount of $3,770.74, which should be available this month. The grant will be used to purchase additional shooting equipment for the members. After the fifth place finish at the district 4-H match in May, the club has been invited to shoot in the Brownwood first invitational rifle match on June 30. The club is lead by Dr. Gene H. Nelson, an NRA instructor, and shoots are on Saturday mornings from 9-11 a.m. Meetings are at the County Extension office at 114 West Main Street at 9 a.m. and then members go to the Brady Lake range or the indoor Kiwanis range on East Main Street to shoot. Visitors are welcome.
