Program chairman Connie Locklear introduced Retired Col. Warren Groves, a past member of the Rotary Club. He gave a very informative talk concerning the U.S. Flag. He started by telling us the various names we call the flag, i.e., Old Glory, Stars and Stripes, etc. Then he discussed the ways we should display the U.S. Flag, and how it should be destroyed when worn out. Tradition tells us that red means bravery, white means purity and blue means justice with faith in God. The 13 strips represent the 13 original colonies and each star represents a state’50. Sandra Youree was awarded the $2 bill for being the newest member of the Rotary Club. Upcoming program chairmen are, June 19 – Martin Leatherwood; June 26 – Installation of officers; July 3 – no meeting; July 10.
