Amanda Leigh Moore and Ensign Eric Ryan Gould were united in marriage on Friday, May 18 at 6 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Liberty. A reception, dinner and dance followed at the City of Liberty Auditorium. Dr. William J. Newcomb performed the double ring ceremony with music provided by vocalist Miss Nicole Bonvillian, cousin of the bride, of Grapeland and Mr. Bryan Campbell, organist, of Liberty. Miss Bonvillian sang Shubert’s “Ave Maria” in Latin and Mr. Campbell performed a number of classical pieces including Bach’s “Sinfonia” and Pachelbel’s “Canon in D.” On the eve of the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at The Windmill in Dayton. The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Douglas Earl Moore of Liberty, formerly of Brady, and the grand daughter of Mr. W.A. Cummings and the late Mrs. Hazel Irene Mancil Moore Cummings of Liberty and the late Mr. Dee Moore of Idabel, Okla., and Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Murphy of Grapeland. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Spencer Gould of La Marque and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. George H. Gould, Sr., and the late Mr. and Mrs. John P. Ryan, all of Texas City. Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an elegant gown of white satin. The princess style A-line gown’s bodice was embellished with hand-sewn pearls. The chapel length gown had spaghetti straps with a lace split back and tulle inset chapel length train. The bride’s tiara, encrusted with pearls, accented the cathedral length illusion veil. The bride wore diamond earrings and pendant worn by her mother at her parents’ wedding and a diamond and pearl ring given to her by her grandfather. The bride carried a bouquet of perfect white roses and accents of lavender hydrangea wrapped in white braided satin ribbons. The bridesmaids wore formal gowns of delicate lavender voile. They each carried a bouquet of hydrangea tied together with matching white satin ribbons. Serving as the bride’s matron of honor was Mrs. Michaela Dima Rodriquez of Seattle, Washington, and Maid of Honor was Miss Jill Norman of Brady. The bridesmaids were Miss Alyssa Schueler and Miss Jackie Steele of Edinburg and Miss Stacy White of Plano. The junior bridesmaid was Miss Amy Arnold of Liberty. Serving as the groom’s best man was Mr. Spencer Gould, brother of the groom, of La Marque. The groomsmen were Mr. Josh Miller of Tyler, Mr. Josh Shirley of Texas City, Mr. Mark Conouyer of Katy and Mr. Travis Moore, brother of the bride, of Liberty. The junior groomsman was Charles Whittaker, second couisn of the bride, of Raywood. Serving the groom as ushers were Mr. Nicholas Norris of Austin and Spencer Bennett of Alvin. The bride graduated from Edinburg High School and is a senior Recreation, Parks and Tourism Sciences major at Texas A&M University. The groom graduated from La Marque High School and Texas A&M University where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Distribution. He is an Ensign in the United States Navy and will be deployed in July to flight school at Pensacola, Fla. Following a honeymoon on the Mayan Sun Coast, Amanda and Eric will reside in College Station. The couple will ultimately make their home in San Diego, Calif., where they will be stationed after flight school.
