Elroy Zapata Solis, Sr., 35, of Brady, died Wednesday, June 6 in San Antonio. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 9 in the First United Methodist Church in Brady. Rev. Colm Mulligan, priest of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church conducted. Burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery under the direction of Leatherwood Memorial Chapels. Born May 27, 1966 in Brady, he was the son of Martin and Irene Zapata Solis. He married Annette Alizzi on Oct. 12, 1996, in Brady. Mr. Solis had been a caster at Kohler in Brownwood for the past 19 years. He was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Brady. Survivors include his wife, Annette, of Brady; four sons, Elroy Solis, Jr., John Pual Solis, and Daniel Solis, all of Brownwood, and Christopher Lopez of Brady; a daughter, Lauren Solis of Brady; his parents, Martin and Irene Solis of Brady; his grandfather, Antonio Zapata of Brady; his mother-in-law, Melinda Molina, of San Antonio; two sisters, Lori Leal of Odessa, and Valerie Solis of Brady; two sisters-in-law, Sandra Alizzi of Brady and Anna Ledezma of San Antonio.
