TAKING INVENTORY’State Trooper Sam Gonzalez of the Texas Department of Public Safety, along with Tommy Beard of Heart of Texas Towing, catalog the contents of the vehicle of Raul Victorino as part of the investigation of the fatal accident that occurred early Thursday morning. A 44-year-old Colorado man was killed in a one-vehicle accident early Thursday when the automobile left the roadway, went airborne and flipped. Raul DeLeon Victorino of Colorado Springs, Colo., the only occupant of the 2001 Volvo, was pronounced dead at the scene around 5 a.m. Thursday by Justice of the Peace Doris Bryson. The accident occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. and was reported to Brady law enforcement officials by a passing truck driver. According to preliminary investigations by State Trooper Sam Gonzalez with the Texas Department of Public Safety, Victorino was traveling south on U.S. Hwy. 87 when he lost control of the vehicle. It is believed that he fell asleep at the wheel. He was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident. Victorino is reported to have been the preacher of Centro Christiano Church in Colorado Springs. The official cause of death as listed by Judge Bryson was massive head injuries.
