The church foyer was decorated with an array of ficus trees, topiaries and candles. The center aisle of the sanctuary was flanked by white tulle draped in scallops from the pews and was adorned with gold ribbons and grapes. The front of the church featured topiaries and candelabras. The center featured a statue draped with ivy to the altar and had large silk arrangements of raisin and gold gladiola with maroon, white and gold magnolia leaves and berries. The kneeling rail was embellished with raisin satin, gold tulle, magnolia leaves, grapes and hurricane lamps. Boston ferns on white pillars stood at each end of the kneeling rail. Music was provided by organist Larry Leifeste and vocalists Celita Leifeste. She sang “The Father Says I Do” and “The Lord’s Prayer.” The bride, given in marriage by her father, Clinton Schlueter, chose a formal princess style sleeveless gown of white satin. Tiny buttons accented the back and the bodice and hemline featured brocade trim. She wore a fingertip veil of white bridal illusion with silver trim. Her bouquet was a cascade of yellow roses. Bridal attendants were her twin sister, Susan Schlueter, maid of honor, and sister, Shelly Schlueter Herron, matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Rhonda Schlueter, sister-in-law, and friends, Cindy Oliver, Kim Torres, Cathy Beller and Brenda Davenport. They wore formal, scoop neck sleeveless gowns of raisin shantung. They carried small silk cascades of raisin and fall gold gladiola and roses accented with berries. The flower girl was Kelsey McBee, daughter of Shannon McBee and Shelly McBee. Kelsey, niece of the groom, wore an ivory, tea-length dress of organdy with a wide sash and carried a basket of rose petals which she scattered along her way down the aisle. The groom and his attendants wore black tuxedos and yellow rose boutonnieres. Best man was Brian King. Groomsmen were Vince Thompson, Jon Salter, Joel Shields, Garrett Roddie, John Hickman, Jim Wood and Jeff Brandes. Ushers were Scott Schlueter, Kirk Hall, Ryan Lewis and Shannon McBee. Ferns, tulle and tiny white lights greeted guests at the entrance. The focal point at the Civic Center was a water fountain which centered crossed tables adorned with white linen, tulle, greenery and fruit. A garden like setting with Boston ferns and columns along with a white archway was the background for the bride’s table. The bride’s table featured a three-tiered wedding cake decorated with fresh yellow roses with crystal appointments. The groom’s table, covered with animal print and brown chiffon, featured a chocolate cake and a brass coffee urn. After a honeymoon at Cabo San Lucas, Mex., the newlyweds are at home in Burleson.
