Jimmie R. Boler, 70, of Abilene, died Thursday, May 31 at Sears Methodist Center. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 4, at Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Memories in Abilene, the Rev. Rick Cavitt, officiating. Masonic graveside rites were held at 4 p.m. Monday in Cowboy Cemetery in McCulloch County, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. Born Sept. 6, 1930, in Plainview, he retired from Rex Carlile Construction. He married Marvagene Creech March 25, 1964, in San Angelo. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he served in Korea. He was an Abilene resident since 1969, moving from Eldorado. He was a member of the Rocky Creek Baptist Church and was an endowed member of Hobah Lodge, No. 1394, a member of Waco Scottish Rite, Suez Shrine Temple, Abilene Shrine Club, a past president of the Abilene Shrine Clowns and a member of the VFW Post 2012. Survivors include his wife, Marvagene, of Abilene; a son, Rees L. Boler of Abilene; a daughter, Jamie Miers of Abilene; a brother, Earl Boler of Acton; a sister, Leatrice Waren of Brownwood; and two grandsons.
