Lohn graduates to walk Friday

The Lohn Independent School District has announced their top students of the 2000-2001 school year and Stephanie Fischer and Rachal Johnstone top the list as valedictorian and salutatorian. Fischer, daughter of Steve and Linda Fischer of Pear Valley, leads the class with a grade point average of 94.26. She plans to plans to attend Angelo State University where she wants to major in drama. She hopes to one day attend law school or because a famous actress. Her high school activities included basketball, drill team manager, tennis, one-act play and FFA. She attended the Lions Honor Banquet, is listed in Who’s Who in Social Studies and Computer Science, was voted most likely to succeed, best actress in one-act play, most school spirited, was class officer and FFA officer. Johnstone, the daughter of Ernie and Kathy Johnstone of Pear Valley, finishes her high school career with a 91.18 grade point average. She also plans to attend Angelo State University where she will major in nursing. Upon completion of nursing school, she hopes to become a pediatric nurse. In high school, she was active in basketball, tennis, UIL, one-act play and cheerleading. She was inducted into the National Honor Society, attended the Lions Honor Banquet, was voted Miss Lohn High School, Best All Around and was her class secretary. Other graduating seniors are Joel Rodriquez, Justin Covey, Jennifer Hays and Clinton Huth. Graduation ceremonies will be held Friday, May 18 at 7 p.m. at the Lohn Tabernacle. Special awards and scholarship presentations will also be made during the ceremony.
