Ruby Marsden, 73, of Brady, died Sunday, May 6 in Abilene after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 9 in Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Max Reynolds, rector of the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in Live Oak Cemetery. Born March 30, 1928, in Eastland County, she was the daughter of Benjamin and Janie Seavers Clark. She married Dick Marsden, Jr. in Llano. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Marsden was a dietician for the Brady Independent School District for a number of years before retiring. A member of the First United Methodist Church of Brady, she was also active in the Heart of Texas Historical Museum, Helping Hands and the Kairos Prison Ministry. Survivors include a son, Dick Marsden of Brady; a daughter, Joyce Hodges of Portales, N. Mex.; three sisters, Mattie White of Dickinson, Dorothy Meredith of Brady and Ivan Regeon of Temple; and two brothers, Jake Clark of Carbon and Walter Clark of Brady. Memorials may be made to the Hendricks Hospice Care of Abilene.
